FGCC couldn't quite make it 2 home wins in a row, despite posting a competitive total with the bat against Grayswood CC.
Winning the toss on a drying wicket, Jim sent Mark and Greavsie on season debut to open up, and both ticked along sensibly until both were caught behind. With Lloyd falling LBW to the unorthodox bowling of Surtees the stage was set for Pavan and Anam to put on a stand, and this they did bringing up 68 for the 4th wicket before Anam holed out. With Dean adding a rapid 28, Pavan took his time to reach a personal landmark and finally did during the final over of the innings, leaving FGCC posting 200+ for the first time this season.
Grayswood came out with attacking intent from the start, and the decisive moment proved to be when Pavan spilled a catch to get rid of Chapman. This ended up being fatal for FGCC, as he and Hind put on 107 for the 2nd wicket and in doing so accumulating runs at a fast rate. Nevertheless FGCC were never entirely out of the game, and fine bowling by Dean and Tim, along with Anam's hostility meant the game could have swung either way right until the final overs. However, with Chapman well-set, he bludgeoned his way to a fine unbeaten 100 which saw Grayswood reach their target with 9 balls to spare.
