A spirited effort from 8-man FGCC wasn't quite enough as Welford Park timed this run chase to perfection.
Winning the toss and batting, Frimley Green got off to a great start thanks to Dave Brown and Gordon Marsh. Dave's knock was ended thanks to a superb return catch from G Norton, and with that the run rate slowed. With the batsmen having to be cautious due to the shortened batting line-up, nobody really got going and the score ended up as 129/6.
Keen to possibly end the season on a high, Frimley Green's effort in the field was excellent, with David Huggett bowling batsmen 2, 3, and 4, and Dave Brown keeping things incredibly tight at the other end. Ultimately, however, opener J Russell, with 72 unbeaten runs, took the game away from them. Welford Park got over the line in fading light with 3 overs and 4 wickets in hand.
