Frimley Green saw off Seven Sports thanks mainly to Gordon Marsh's terrific unbeaten 77, plus some great catches in the field.
Winning the toss and batting first on a scorching hot, cloudless day, Frimley Green started solidly with Rich Loosley hitting an excellent 55. Gordy and JP then took over, JP scoring 24 off 23 balls whilst G-Marsh cracked 18 off a stunning final over, including one beautiful straight six.
In the face of a strong total, Seven Sports started fairly slowly with David Huggett and Dave Brown keeping things tight, but opener D Johnson soon played himself in and began to take control. At the halfway stage the match was very much in the balance, until Rus Edmonds took 2 wickets in an over, including dangerman Paul Johnson. Rich Loosley then bowled D Johnson for 62 in the very next over to put FGCC in control; control that was never relinquished thanks to some disciplined bowling. Seven Sports eventually fell 36 runs short of their target.
