Badshot Lea (152/9) beat Frimley Green Cricket Club (114 all out) by 38 runs

FGCC's 100% home record for 2014 ended abruptly with a second defeat of the season to Badshot Lea.
Losing the toss and bowling first, FGCC skipper Jim Barker decided to throw himself on to open the bowling, and after 2 of his first 3 balls went for 6 it was very much in the balance whether the experiment was rather foolhardy. Luckily he didn't change his mind, as thanks to two catches by Rich, a fine take at deep mid wicket by Ants and a ball which spun just enough to dismantle Sam Acres' stumps, Jim's opening spell ended with his best figures for the club - 4-34. Supported by fine bowling from Tim and Adam Jones, FGCC kept things relatively tight, with only Tim Gray's fine 65 offering much resistance.
In reply Rich carried on his fine form, playing beautifully until a mis-timed pull to Square Leg was snaffled as he was on the cusp of yet another 50. A middle-order collapse ensued, and although Rus and Jim put on 30 for the 8th wicket when both results were still possible some accurate and at times pacy bowling from Badshot Lea was enough to see them emerge victorious.
