Redhill and Old Coulsdon (164/5) beat Frimley Green Cricket Club (160/8) by 5 wickets

Noel Long, in a frenzied assault on the bowlers, losing hold of his bat and sending it sailing to the boundary, whilst his stumps were shattered.
In a tight game Redhill and Old Coulsdon came out on top thanks to an excellent second-wicket partnership and an unbeaten 77 from opener R Coppard. FGCC batted first and started solidly but slowly, before Antony Johnson ran Gordon Marsh out with a poor call. Rus Edmonds and Marcus Carmichael were soon dismissed, followed by Johnson for a solid 31, before quick runs from Mike Lloyd, Alan Greaves, Noel Long, and Nick Gates put them in with a chance of a competitive total. Jon Prior and David Huggett stuck around and scored a run-a-ball 20 for the 9th wicket, to take the score to 160/8. FGCC bowled and fielded well, but the second-wicket partnership took the game away from them, with Mike Elsby hitting a quickfire 59 before being well caught by Edmonds from the bowling of Jon Prior. At that point FGCC felt they were in with a chance, and Huggett soon took a juggling catch off the bowling of a fired-up Julian Bland. With R&OC needing 20 runs from 14 overs with 5 wickets in hand, the game looked over, but FGCC continued to try for the win. Nick Gates and Jules Bland bowled excellent, tight, spells at the death, but it wasn't quite enough as Redhill and Old Coulsdon got home with 8 balls to spare.
