Bagshot (156/4) beat Frimley Green Cricket Club (152 all out) by 6 wickets
Hafiz Rahman
Hafiz' first over, removing Moffat and Bagnald in the space of 3 balls
FGCC's first ever trip to neighbours Bagshot ended in defeat, despite the best efforts of Hafiz and the return of former Social Secretary Dave Brown.
Electing to bat, FGCC lost Ajay and Mark early on, but a 40 run partnership between a patient Ashok and fidgety Suresh took them to 50 before Ashok's vigil was ended when his stumps were dismantled. Dave's return - making his first appearance after 7 years away - ended in farcical fashion when Suresh ran him out, thus seeing Dave join the Parthenon of those who have been left marooned by the joint vice-captain. Thankfully though Suresh hung around, and with Hafiz put on a few more before holing out. Jonny and Jim chipped in with a few, but once Hafiz departed for a well-made 37 FGCC's chances of posting a decent total on a great batting track went. When Nick was the last to go, FGCC were all out for 152, a seemingly below-par score...
...and so it proved to be, despite Hafiz' best efforts with the ball and Dave's 2 wickets on his return. Ultimately a 50 from BCC's Ryan Funnell, which the oppo wicket keeper bought up when making the shot to win the game - was more than enough for the hosts, as Bagshot reached their target with 10 overs to spare.
