Badshot Lea (172/6) beat Frimley Green Cricket Club (169/8) by 4 wickets

Kevin's slower ball to get rid of BLCC's aggressive opening bat 'Ron'
In a match reduced to 30 overs a-side following some significant pre-game rain, FGCC's gutsy batting performance was put into the shade by some aggressive hitting from old adversaries Badshot Lea.
With the match starting an hour late to give the pitch some much needed time to dry out, Captain Jim won an important toss and elected to bat on a very damp track. Opening the batting, Ants went first ball to an edge caught neatly in the slips, but after this Mark and Kevin put on a 66-run stand for the 2nd wicket, Mark in particular taking a liking to the conditions and blasting J. Harris for 22 off one over. The aggression continued a pace with the introduction of Graeme, who made light of the tricky conditions with a club-best 37 off only 29 deliveries. Cameos from Dom, Nick and Jim gave FGCC a final total of 169 off their 30 overs at a run rate of 5.6 - the best FGCC have managed for some time.
In reply, and with the track now drying and conditions improving BLCC didn't hang around in putting runs on the board. Only Nick - with the innings' only maiden and 2 wickets on his 2015 debut - and Kevin, whose slower ball did for the Badshot Lea opener, came out with economy below the required rate, and although both Jim and Rus took scalps it was the inventive (and at times outrageous) hitting of Chris Longley with a rapid 67 that set the tone for Badshot Lea to knock the runs off with 21 balls to spare. Special mention to Dom Tallent, who took 3 good catches at mid-on.
