Chertsey vs Frimley Green Cricket Club - Sunday 2nd July 2017, 14:00

Chertsey (131/1) beat Frimley Green Cricket Club (128 all out) by 9 wickets

Match Detail
A one-sided affair saw FGCC, who featured no less than 5 debutants, humbled by a Chertsey squad which featured in Wade Cupido a paid overseas player who showed his class with both bat and ball. Winning the toss and electing to bat on a gorgeous summer's afternoon (and with a large crowd who'd gathered for a christening party) FGCC's innings was slow and jittery against some very accurate bowling. Only Suresh and new lad Ajay contributed scores of any note, although credit to Greavsie for trying to give the innings a platform at the start. The score could have been much lower if Chertsey had taken their catches, Suresh in particularly surviving after seeing 3 or 4 potential catches spilled. On a flat pitch 128 seemed a fair few runs short, and this indeed proved to be the case once left-hander Cupido came out to open. After his earlier bowling effort (5-2-15-2) and having survived a tricky catch attempt by Andy Blair he took the FGCC bowling to task, racking up a match-winning 65n.o to see Chertsey canter to victory in just shy of 17 overs. A one-sided game best forgotten.
