Frimley Green Cricket Club vs Badshot Lea - Sunday 10th June 2007, 14:00
Badshot Lea (216 all out) beat Frimley Green Cricket Club (202/9) by 14 runs
Match Detail
FGCC fell short of a challenging target in a lively encounter at Frimley Green Recreation Ground. Winning the toss and opting to bat with bright sunshine beating down on the ground, Badshot Lea started well, and were eventually bowled out for 216 runs in the last over, with captain Chris Olley scoring a quickfire 42. Frimley Green needed a strong start to have any chance of reaching their target, and the familiar Antony Johnson/Tim Jones partnership reached 58 in 11 overs before AJ holed out to mid-off. That slowed the pace down somewhat, and FGCC were indebted to a superb stand of 86 between Gordon Marsh and John Sherringham which got their side within reach of the required total. When the two of them finally perished, so did any realistic hope of FGCC winning the match - ultimately they lost 9 wickets and failed by 14 runs.
