Frimley Green Cricket Club vs Deepcut - Sunday 26th August 2007, 14:00
Deepcut (201/7) beat Frimley Green Cricket Club (83 all out) by 118 runs
Match Detail
With Deepcut batting first in hot conditions, it was always likely to be a difficult day for Frimley Green's bowlers, but openers Julian Bland and Nick Gates didn't concede a run until the 4th over, and after 8 overs the score had trickled along to just 12. However, Deepcut's openers now had their eyes in, and went on to rattle up runs at a quick pace, C Butler in particular impressing with 60 runs. FGCC slowed things down somewhat at the end, but Deepcut still finished with 201/7. Needing quick runs to have a chance of victory, Frimley Green couldn't get them. The first 4 wickets were lost for just 24 runs, and the middle order were left with too big a rebuilding job. Eventually they were all out for 83, Jonny Leaver playing for the opposition and mopping up the tail with an impressive 2-0-9-3.
