Tilford vs Frimley Green Cricket Club - Sunday 14th September 2008, 14:00
Frimley Green Cricket Club (168 all out) beat Tilford (162 all out) by 6 runs
Match Detail
An incredible match ended with a second successive victory for FGCC. Winning the toss and batting first, Frimley Green scored 168 thanks to a solid innings at the top of the order from Gordon Marsh, and a belligerent effort from Dave Brown, batting for FGCC for the first time and scoring a brilliant 55 from just 43 balls. David Huggett fortunately nipped out Tilford's opening batsmen, then Dave Brown capped an outstanding all-round effort with 4 wickets and Al Hammond took 2 to leave the opposition staring down the barrel. 55 runs were needed with just 2 wickets in hand, but Tilford captain J Hunt scored an excellent 39 not out to take his side to the brink of victory, with only 7 runs needed and 4 overs in which to get them. However, Jules Bland had other ideas and bowled Hugh Town-Jones off an inside edge, then hit the top of T Cartwright's off-stump with the very next ball to spark wild celebrations.
