Seven Sports vs Frimley Green Cricket Club - Sunday 30th August 2009, 14:00
Seven Sports (218/4) beat Frimley Green Cricket Club (187/9) by 31 runs
Match Detail
Seven Sports overcame Frimley Green thanks primarily to P Johnson's quickfire 119no. Losing the toss and fielding first, FGCC got off to a poor start, making several errors in the field and twice reprieving Johnson, who also survived a massive caught-behind appeal off Dave Brown. He made the most of his opportunities, smashing some huge sixes, whilst at the other end A James compiled 58no in a daunting total of 218 in 35 overs. FGCC, determined to go down fighting, swung the bat and for a while looked as though they might cause an upset. Jim Barker and Gordon Marsh put on 99 for the 4th wicket and made Seven Sports sweat but, once Barker departed for 41, a minor collapse ensued. Despite Jon Prior's 26, Frimley Green finished 31 runs short in the fading light.
