A good performance in the field, coupled with a promising unbeaten 1st wicket stand was all in vain as the weather intervened to ruin FGCC's chances of victory against Badshot Lea.
Electing to bat, Badshot Lea made a rapid start which was soon pegged back after Huggett dismissed opener Nasir LBW. Mike Parry came on as first change, bowling opposition stalwart T.Gray to snag his first wicket with the club. With the scoring rate kept low despite opener Morris playing well for a 50, Frimley Green grabbed regular wickets, Rus Edmonds finishing with his first 4-fer for the club.
In reply, Brown and Loosley played their shots on a pitch which was fast turning into a mudbath. With the rain beginning to lash down and the ball being regularly wiped with a tea towel, the match was abandoned before it became a farce, in spite of FGCC being in a prime position for victory.
