Frimley Green Cricket Club vs Seven Sports - Sunday 26th June 2011, 14:00
Frimley Green Cricket Club (199/5) beat Seven Sports (164/9) by 35 runs
Match Detail
Frimley Green saw off Seven Sports thanks mainly to Gordon Marsh's terrific unbeaten 77, plus some great catches in the field. Winning the toss and batting first on a scorching hot, cloudless day, Frimley Green started solidly with Rich Loosley hitting an excellent 55. Gordy and JP then took over, JP scoring 24 off 23 balls whilst G-Marsh cracked 18 off a stunning final over, including one beautiful straight six. In the face of a strong total, Seven Sports started fairly slowly with David Huggett and Dave Brown keeping things tight, but opener D Johnson soon played himself in and began to take control. At the halfway stage the match was very much in the balance, until Rus Edmonds took 2 wickets in an over, including dangerman Paul Johnson. Rich Loosley then bowled D Johnson for 62 in the very next over to put FGCC in control; control that was never relinquished thanks to some disciplined bowling. Seven Sports eventually fell 36 runs short of their target.
