Hindhead vs Frimley Green Cricket Club - Sunday 29th July 2012, 14:00

Frimley Green Cricket Club (112/5) drew with Hindhead (105/6)

Match Detail
In a rain-affected timed match, a draw seemed like a fair result as 10-man FGCC played a very hospitible Hindhead side for the first time. Winning the toss and batting, Rich and Greavsie (making his first appearance in 2012) batted sensibly in testing conditions, and had got the score to 26-0 when the rain came. Taking an early tea and having been off the pitch for almost 2 hours, FGCC continued to build, with Greaves notching up his 4th half-century for the club with lots of nurdling and a couple of big thwacks. With JP keeping things ticking over towards the end and notching up yet another not out, captain Jim Barker sportingly declared to set Hindhead a testing 113 to win with only 26 overs to get them. The Hindhead reply was stifled by some excellent bowling and fielding - not a single catch dropped (although Greavsie tried his best with a juggling effort), and with all four bowlers used (including debutant Amir) only conceding one wide between them runs were at a premium. Sensing a chance of victory despite being 6 down and 60 runs behind with only 4 overs left, Hindhead batsmen Bertola and McGregor threw everything into the mix at the death, but with the over limit fast running out it was all in vain with the draw always looking the most likely result.
