Old Isleworthians vs Frimley Green Cricket Club - Sunday 9th June 2013, 14:00

Old Isleworthians (226/6) beat Frimley Green Cricket Club (165/8) by 61 runs

Match Detail
Yet more new opposition for FGCC this season - the 3rd in 4 games - but unfortunately the same result. Starting with 8 men and borrowing 2 off the opposition, FGCC started well, with some tight early bowling from Nug and Prez soon giving way to some strong hitting from Old Isleworthian's opener Tailor, who made a well-crafted 63. OI put on 140 in the last 20 overs, with only Gates and Whitehorn bowling with any great economy. Wicketkeeper-batsman Nute was the main thorn in FGCC's side, making a quickfire 59no. Special mention to Graeme Fleming, making his first appearance behind the stumps and keeping wicket admirably. In reply Cap'n Jim chose an experimental batting line up, which initially played dividends with Kevin and Ants dispatching some early deliveries straight to the boundary. However in true FGCC style wickets soon fell, and it was left to Dave Brown and - shock of shocks - David 'sick note' Huggett to put some respectability to the total. Old Isleworthians players McLaren and O'Neil enjoyed themselves at the end, making valuable contributions, but all in all a good game despite the result.
