Frimley Green Cricket Club vs Hawley - Sunday 4th August 2013, 14:00

Hawley (162/6) beat Frimley Green Cricket Club (160 all out) by 4 wickets

Match Detail
An unbeaten 105 by Hawley opener Ben Harris, coupled with a couple of FGCC batsmen getting themselves out cheaply was the difference here at the Lodge. Winning the toss, FGCC started poorly, with both Jonny and Josh going before the end of the 3rd over. A couple of decent partnerships (JP and Tim putting on 47, Jim and debutant Nick Kendall adding 49) helped the total towards respectability, in spite of a couple of batsmen getting themselves out to balls that were there to be hit... just not to the fielder. In reply Hawley started brightly with some early boundaries, however Rus Edmonds continued his excellent record at the Lodge and took the first 3 wickets in a well-bowled opening spell. With Nick and Tim keeping things tight, it was the support bowling of Jim and JP (in a rare appearance away from wicket-keeping duties) that got taken to town by Hawley opener Harris, who biffed his way to an unbeaten century with some huge 6s. Rus came back to add to his tally late on, but by this time the game was gone. Credit to Hawley for the good-natured manner in which the game was played.
