Binsted vs Frimley Green Cricket Club - Sunday 3rd September 2017, 13:00

Binsted (52/7) beat Frimley Green Cricket Club (51 all out) by 3 wickets

Match Detail
A low scoring game, played in trying conditions in a stream of constant drizzly rain, in which FGCC just couldn't stay at the crease long enough to give their bowlers anything to work with. Electing to bat after winning the toss on a covered wicket, Cap'n Jim stuck himself in to open along with Tim, who was unlucky to get bowled 5th ball after playing on. Jim then threw his wicket away trying an expansive shot, and then the wickets just kept falling. Only Ajay with a well-made 19 in the circumstances offered any resistance, although credit to both the Binsted bowlers and also Andrew Field, who made a club-best 7 n.o when other more experienced heads just didn't have the patience. Chasing a modest 52 to win, once again dream bowling attack Anam and Nick ripped through the top order, Anam in particular virtually unplayable in the torrid conditions. With Binsted 20-odd for 6 at one point it looked like FGCC would pull off another unlikely victory after the stellar performance at Wood Street in the last game, but alas it was not to be as youngster M Whale and BCC captain Ben Krumper steadily accumulated the runs required to make it over the line just before the heavens opened and everyone ran inside for a delicious tea.
