Binfield vs Frimley Green Cricket Club - Sunday 10th September 2017, 13:00

Binfield (241/6) beat Frimley Green Cricket Club (107 all out) by 134 runs

Match Detail
Playing Binfield for the second time this season, FGCC weren't able to repeat their previous fine performance as they were comprehensively beaten on a grey, overcast Berkshire day. Losing the toss and fielding, and with a couple of late-comers (although a huge thanks to Binfield for lending us their talented all-rounder Amelia for the entire game) FGCC were up against it immediately, despite a fine opening spell for Rus which saw Binfield WK Nower bowled early doors followed by a fine caught-and-bowled. With runs coming thick and fast Anam came into the attack and had Bryant well-caught by Sashi, but this did not deter Binfield who with captain Chris Morgan and all-rounder Tim Vines (and despite the latter taking a blow in the crown jewels off a pacy Anam delivery) put on 129 for the 4th wicket. Once both departed big-hitting Reg Edgington came in and as he did in the match earlier on in the season smacked the bowling all over the place, taking Cap'n Jim (playing his 100th game for the club) to town with 3 huge 6s back over the bowler's head. Binfield closed their innings at a daunting 241-6. Facing more than a run-a-ball to win, FGCC's reply was circumspect to say the least, with Greavsie departing early and debutant Vamsi being cleaned up after swinging the bat all over the shop. Credit therefore to Mike Lloyd, who made a very patient and measured 16, and especially to Suresh, whose innings of nurdles and fine stroke-play saw him top scoring with 30. In reality (and with FGCC's recent batting woes) the target was never in reach, and FGCC folded meekly having made less than half of the opposition's total.
