Godalming vs Frimley Green Cricket Club - Sunday 17th August 2014, 14:00

Godalming (188/4) beat Frimley Green Cricket Club (185/6) by 6 wickets

Match Detail
Despite posting a competitive total, FGCC's bowlers were taken to town by a talented Godalming batting line-up. Winning the toss and batting first, Mike again played pinch-hitter until he was cleaned up by Godalming bowler Drain. Adding 86 for the second wicket, Rich and Ants took advantage of some friendly spin on a road-like batting surface, Rich bringing up yet another 50 which included two huge sixes in spite of a back injury that required impromptu physio Mark Russell to raid his Omnisac for some Deep Heat. Perhaps it was the added responsibility of playing the medical hero that spurred Mark on to even greater feats with the bat, scoring a rapid 41 and adding 50 with JP for the 5th wicket. The reply, however, was anything but 'hot' by FGCC standards. Bowler after bowler was dispatched to the boundary, and although Rus bowled well for 3 wickets Godalming made light of the 5-an-over required rate and knocked off the runs with more than 10 overs to spare.
