Warfield vs Frimley Green Cricket Club - Sunday 17th May 2015, 14:00

Frimley Green Cricket Club (177/4) drew with Warfield (158/4)

Match Detail
In this timed match, Frimley Green, arriving with 9 men but being granted the services of 2 Warfield guest stars, lost the toss and were asked to bat. A slow start, with some tight, tricky bowling from C Martin and Ken Fuller, followed, but having seen the opening bowlers off (and been dropped on 2!), Rich Loosley began to feast on the remainder, reaching a superb century from 124 balls. With an aggressive cameo from Graeme Fleming, and a measured, well-timed 41 from guest star Dan Torry, FGCC racked up an imposing 177/4 before departing for a well-earned (and very good) tea. FGCC's opening bowlers, David Huggett and spinner-captain Jim Barker, then kept things tight in their opening spells. Huggett excelled, fooling opening batsman Aroun with a slower ball before nipping one back in to castle number 3 R Scott. When he limped off, his figures were an excellent 5-1-6-2. Kevin Whitehorn carried on from there and bowled number 4 Ethan Fuller, but after that, wickets were hard to come by. Where they'd been nothing but tight and disciplined in the field in the first half of the innings, things got ragged as opening batsman Taylor (76*) piled on the pressure. 3 dropped catches later, Warfield were dreaming of an unlikely win, and swinging the bat at every ball. However, Huggett, bowling through the pain barrier, and Loosley (bowling 11 straight overs!) stopped the rot, and Warfield ultimately ended their innings on 158/4.
