Frimley Green's 9 men put up a good fight against a strong Godalming XI but ultimately came up just short. Kevin Whitehorn opened the bowling and performed superbly, taking 3 key wickets. With Rich and Tim also keeping things tight, Godalming had to bat well to set up a probably just-above-par target of 180 from 35 overs. Rich and Mark then set about making that target look straightforward, scoring steadily and edging FGCC into the ascendancy. When Mark fell after an 84-run partnership, however, runs seemed harder to come by. Godalming bowled well to restrict Frimley Green's scoring opportunities, and thusly Rich and Tim were having to take some risky singles. When one such call went wrong, the match's key moment came - Rich was run out, and the challenge petered out from there on.
